How Beehive Broadband Gives Back to the Community
By: Todd Stoddard, Vice President of Sales and Business Development
At Beehive Broadband, our mission is not just about delivering high-speed internet and advanced fiber technology to Utah and Nevada residents. It’s about creating meaningful connections—not just through technology but within the communities we serve. We believe in giving back in ways that make a difference, whether it’s supporting local events, investing in future generations, or partnering with underrepresented communities. This year has been a testament to our commitment, and I’m excited to share some of the ways Beehive Broadband has stepped up to support the people and communities around us.
Sponsoring the Tooele Children’s Justice Center Golf Tournament
One of the events we were honored to sponsor this year was the Tooele Children’s Justice Center Golf Tournament. This tournament plays a critical role in raising awareness and funds for a center that supports children and families during some of their most difficult times. The Children’s Justice Center provides a safe space for children who have been victims of abuse to receive the care and attention they need. Participating in this event allowed us to help provide resources to families and children in our community who need them the most.
Our team didn’t just stop at sponsoring the event—we were out on the green, playing alongside other community members, networking and raising awareness about the importance of supporting the center’s mission. As a company that values family and community, it’s initiatives like these that truly resonate with us at Beehive. The work done by the Tooele Children’s Justice Center aligns with our own values of fostering safe, healthy and connected communities, and we look forward to supporting their work in the future.
Technology Donations to the Goshute Tribe at Sacred Circle Healthcare
This year, we also had the privilege of making a significant contribution to the Confederated Tribes of the Goshute Reservation and Sacred Circle Healthcare. The Goshute Tribe operates five healthcare clinics across Utah, providing essential services to their communities. When we learned about their need for technological resources, we knew we had the ability to help.
Beehive Broadband, in coordination with Protek Support, donated several computer workstations, servers, Cisco switches, monitors, keyboards and mice to Sacred Circle Healthcare’s facilities in Ibapah. The tribe now has the flexibility to use this technology however they see fit, but our donation was made with the specific goal of outfitting the new reservation daycare center and tribal library. In a world that’s increasingly dependent on technology for education and healthcare, ensuring that these community hubs are fully equipped will make a significant impact.
This partnership is about more than just technology—it’s about supporting communities that have historically been underserved. By providing the tools necessary to foster learning, communication and development, we hope to be a small part of the positive impact that the Goshute Tribe and Sacred Circle Healthcare are making in their communities. We are proud to have worked with them on this initiative and look forward to future opportunities to support their efforts.
Inspiring Future Generations with STEM Education
At Beehive Broadband, we’re passionate about educating the next generation, especially when it comes to technology. We know that today’s students are tomorrow’s engineers, innovators, and leaders, which is why we make it a priority to get involved in local schools.
Earlier this year, we participated in the Box Elder County STEM Fair, where we made valuable connections with educators who share our enthusiasm for teaching students about technology. One teacher, in particular, stood out to us—a computer science teacher who was planning to introduce his students to fiber internet technology. After connecting with him at the STEM Fair, we were invited to visit two different schools in Box Elder County to teach seventh-grade students about fiber technology, careers in tech and the services Beehive Broadband provides.
During our visits, we set up a table full of educational materials and demonstrated how fiber technology works. We took the time to explain the importance of reliable, high-speed internet in today’s world and shared the exciting career opportunities that exist in this field. The students were engaged, curious and eager to learn more about how fiber technology could one day impact their own communities. We also made sure to leave them with some Beehive swag to remember us by!
Our goal in participating in these events isn’t just to educate students about fiber internet—it’s to inspire them. We want them to walk away with the understanding that technology is more than just something they use; it’s something they can shape, innovate and lead in the future.
Our Ongoing Commitment to Community
At Beehive Broadband, giving back is woven into the fabric of our company culture. Whether we’re sponsoring events like the Tooele Children’s Justice Center Golf Tournament, donating technology to underserved communities like the Goshute Tribe, or educating students about the importance of fiber technology, we believe in making a lasting, positive impact.
We see ourselves as more than just a provider of internet services. We see ourselves as a partner to the communities we serve, working hand-in-hand to ensure that everyone—no matter where they live—has the tools, resources and opportunities they need to thrive. Whether it’s through sponsorships, donations, or educational outreach, our goal is to continue giving back in ways that help build stronger, more connected communities.
This is just the beginning. As Beehive Broadband continues to grow and expand, so too will our commitment to making a difference. We’re proud of the work we’ve done this year, but there’s always more to do—and we’re ready to do it. To keep up with our company updates and highlights, be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram!
As we head into 2025, let’s keep building something great, together.
